- A Historical Legacy
In July, 2021, The Robert Roscioli State Historical Marker was installed at the entrance to Roscioli Yachting Center.
ROBERT ROSCIOLI, LEADER IN THE SOUTH FLORIDA MARINE INDUSTRY
Robert “Bob” Roscioli moved to the south Florida from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with his family in 1956. He started working on boats in 1962, when he took a position sanding boats at the Marine Ways boatyard in Fort Lauderdale. In the late 1960s, he started his own yacht servicing business, the Roscioli Yachting Center, on small dock. Roscioli built his business on hard work and attention to detail, ensuring quality and customer pride; he built his team on their ability to meet challenges, and by instilling loyalty and trust. In 1981, Roscioli expanded his business by acquiring a larger shipyard. By 1987, he had branched into building his own yachts with the creation of Roscioli Donzi Yachts. Among Roscioli’s more notable clients were McDonald’s founder Ray Kroc and builder Henry Burger. His mantra, “Today’s the day!”, helped Roscioli define Fort Lauderdale’s marine and yachting industries for nearly sixty years. With focus, vision and dedication, he rose to become a respected icon of yacht building, repair, and restoration. He passed away in 2020, at the age of 78, survived by this wife, Sharon, and his children, Robert, Jr. and Heather.

When Bob Roscioli purchased the property on West State Road 84, he met the project with the same conviction and drive he used to launch his first marine business in 1962. His philosophy was simple: take the risk, be the best, work the hardest, and stand behind your name.
Roscioli Yachting Center’s fully-renovated 14.5-acre site is a testament to Bob’s grit and commitment — from the carpentry shop to 360-ton travel lift, to the in-water workspaces and the crew’s Galley Café and private gym — every aspect of the Yachting Center carries the signature Roscioli attention to detail.
Bob was also known for his loyalty, leadership, and work ethic, illustrated in every aspect of his business along with the members of his team that he hired, mentored, coached and worked alongside. His touch, his name, is on every exacting detail.
The Roscioli Yachting Center was built to provide all of the top-quality features that are critical to safe and sound restoration and repairs. The craftsmen, contractors, and facilities, have all been designed to cater to the yacht owner, manager and crew, in an efficient and cost-effective way. Materials, workmanship, schedules, and budgets are closely structured and monitored to deliver, of course, only the best.
“Success is not about greatness, it’s about consistency,” stated Roscioli. Roscioli Yachting Center–it’s in the name.
